Ophthalmologist
I was born in Kadirli district of Osmaniye province. In 1991, I was accepted into medical school, which was my biggest dream and my FIRST choice. I started my professional life with my education at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine between 1991 and 1997. I passed the Medical Specialization Examination (TUS) and was accepted into the “Ophthalmology” branch, which was my FIRST choice, and completed my specialization training in 2001 at “Ankara Ulucanlar Eye Training and Research Hospital,” one of Türkiye’s leading centers. My academic career and specialization journey continued from May 2002 onwards at Ankara Ulucanlar Eye Hospital, where I completed my ophthalmology residency. I worked in the glaucoma and oculoplasty unit, provided assistant training, published scientific papers, and actively treated my patients.

During my professional development process;

  • In 2009, I received training in Oculoplastic Surgery and Ocular Oncology at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology.
  • In 2013, I took the “Associate Professorship” exam and, based on my scientific work and clinical achievements, I was deemed “SUCCESSFUL” and received the title of “Associate Professor”.
  • In 2020: I received the title of “PROFESSOR” at Ulucanlar Eye Hospital, Health Sciences University, and continued to both train future ophthalmologists and provide the highest level of service to my patients.
Clinical Experiences and Educational Responsibilities
Between 2002 and 2022, I worked as a trainer and training supervisor at Ankara Ulucanlar Eye Hospital, and from 2022 to 2023, I worked as a trainer at Ankara Etlik City Hospital. Following my long and intensive clinical experience in the public sector, after retiring from my position, I continued my work at Ankara Dünyagöz Hospital between November 2023 and January 2025. I have been practicing my profession in my clinic in Ankara since February 2025.
Scientific Contributions and International Memberships
I consider scientific sharing an integral part of my profession. In this context:
  • Over 170 scientific studies published in international and national peer-reviewed journals,
  • Nearly 130 papers presented at conferences,
  • I have contributed to the sector by supervising 4 specialist theses and numerous live surgical procedures.
I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience as an invited speaker at numerous ophthalmology conferences. As you can see from all this, another aspect of my profession that I enjoy most is sharing knowledge with my younger colleagues.
Areas of Special Interest and Expertise
In my medical practice, both protecting and improving vision, and enabling my patients to have a more vibrant and aesthetically pleasing gaze, are my greatest motivations and one of the aspects of my job that I enjoy the most. I particularly focus on the following areas:
General Eye Examination: Glasses, contact lenses, refraction
Glaucoma (Eye Pressure): Monitoring of early, moderate, and advanced stage glaucoma, drug treatments, laser treatments for glaucoma (YAG for closed-angle glaucoma, selective laser therapy = SLT for open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension), and glaucoma surgery. Oculoplastic Surgery: Eyelid diseases, aesthetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), eyelid turning inward (entropion) or outward (ectropion), eyelid drooping, lower eyelid bags, pterygium (eyelid growth), chalazion (stye), eyelid tumors, etc. Medical Aesthetic and Cosmetic Procedures: Botox, fillers, skin rejuvenation treatments. Cataract: Modern phacoemulsification (phacoemulsification) surgery, and cataract surgery, particularly in eyes with glaucoma. Tear System: Treatments for excessive tearing and blocked tear ducts.
